Dear Adri Dharan Prabhu,
Please accept my most humble obeisances at your feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
As an aspiring insignificant servant who wants more than anything to see Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON not disgraced but glorified, I beg you to answer the following question with all honesty at your command.
Srila Prabhupada clearly instructed that the GBC always has the final say in ISKCON. This is a fact which you, being a protagonist for a posthumous ritvik system in ISKCON, have recently admitted. I remind you that on 1 May on COM you wrote:
"I am totally for GBC, only as Srila Prabhupada defined it. I think this is very clear and many devotees are beginning to see the point."
Here is how Srila Prabhupada defined the GBC:
"The GBC authority must be accepted under all circumstances, not that there will be fighting amongst you. This fighting spirit will destroy everything." (SPL Bali Mardan, 18 Sept, ‘72)
So if you really are ‘totally for GBC’ why do you rebel against Srila Prabhupada’s instruction to fully co-operate with the GBC?
Even during Srila Prabhupada’s physical presence, objections to GBC resolutions only went through an authorised forum at an appropriate time, or not at all. Srila Prabhupada clearly wanted everyone to co-operate fully with the GBC. Your rebellion against the GBC’s unanimous decision against ritvikism clearly violates Srila Prabhupada’s wishes.
Here is another GBC definition by Srila Prabhupada:
"So far your question, how far should the orders of my duly appointed officers like GBC, etc., be obeyed and followed, the answer is that they must always be followed exactly as he says. Have you not heard me on this point? Why these questions are repeated again and again? This individual begging must be stopped."
(SPL to Jayadharma, 13th December, 1972)
Srila Prabhupada often made it very clear that he was very displeased with devotees who did not co-operate with the GBC. ISKCON must have ‘law and order.’ We cannot have a lawless society.
Over a period of nearly ten years the GBC have rejected all proposals for a posthumous ritvik system in ISKCON. This rejection was based upon extensive research by ISKCON scholars which culminated in a definitive paper entitled ‘Prabhupada’s Order’. This year another ritvik proposal was submitted to the GBC in Mayapur but that too was ‘unanimously’ rejected, surmising that ritvikism is a dangerous and devious concoction.
You stated that the GBC is not the GBC because they unanimously disagree with your ritvik concoction. Based on this most unreasonable explanation you have decided to rebel, defying Srila Prabhupada’s authority system and emphatic instruction not to take a philosophical dispute outside ISKCON.
This illegitimate action of yours is what I would like to call into question.
Do you admit that you have acted illegitimately by
a) rebelling against Srila Prabhupada’s GBC authority structure, being immensely frustrated with your year-after-year failed attempts to influence ISKCON with the ritvik concoction?
b) instigating directly or indirectly unauthorised and sometimes obscene, blasphemous, and harmful propaganda against the GBC, ISKCON, and ISKCON gurus?
c) disobeying Srila Prabhupada’s clear instruction in Caitanya-caritamrita not to take philosophical disputes outside ISKCON since this can only harm the reputation of his preaching mission?
I appeal sincerely to your honesty: Failure to ‘directly’ answer a) b) and c) without any evasion will no doubt be seen as a submission of guilt by the internet assembled devotees.
In your comment to my introduction you claimed that I contradicted myself and the GBC but your proof as usual did not match your claim. Please try to stick to disproving my evidence with REAL evidence rather than creating contradictions that are not only non-essential but unverifiable.
I respectfully remind you also that the purpose of this debate is to discuss the philosophy of initiation and its practical application in ISKCON which can only be truly understood by first observing strictly the ‘proper procedure guidelines’ given by Srila Prabhupada. I believe that your procedural neglect is hampering your ability to understand why the GBC unanimously rejected your posthumous ritvikism as a dangerous and devious concoction.
Hoping to alleviate ISKCON from the grave disturbances caused by your unauthorised ritvikism,
your humble aspiring servant,
Ajamila Dasa Adhikari
